The specifications below describe the production-baseline ARCAB cable and coiled tubing. Custom configurations for specific applications are available — contact us to discuss your requirements.
Mechanical
Outer diameter (production baseline): 32 mm — first production line.
Outer diameter (capability range): up to 60 mm including armour — customer-specified.
Armour thickness: 2 – 6 mm — single-layer interlocking high-strength steel profiles.
Bend radius (operational): 12 × D — general rule, where D = cable diameter.
Mechanical loading: compression and tensile loading up to material yield strength — no bird-nesting, no torsional failure.
Cable longitudinal behaviour: semi-rigid, pushable into horizontal and complex paths — eliminates need for tractors and intervention tools in many installations.
Outer surface: continuous, smooth, low-friction — reduces deployment force; no greasing required in pressure control heads.
Pressure and temperature
Operating pressure: up to 450 bar — validated for high-pressure downhole and process applications.
Operating temperature: up to 280 °C — conservative service rating.
Material temperature range: −50 °C to +350 °C — steel armour material capability.
Altitude / depth: no restriction — suitable for surface, subsea, and downhole deployments.
Chemical resistance
The solid steel sheath provides high resistance to chemical attack: hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) for sour-gas environments; ammonia for chemical process and refrigeration; sulphuric acid for process industries; saltwater for marine and subsea applications; and standard ground chemistry for direct burial in normal soils with no degradation.
Electrical and signal
Voltage capability (baseline): 100 kVA — single-conductor production baseline.
Inner conductor options: power, instrumentation, fibre-optic — the same armour serves multiple inner-cable types.
Earthing / grounding: armour connects to potential equalisation; remainder via conventional cable connectors — standard practice.
Sealing on fracture: gas-tight; no deformation under fracture; no torsion release — validated mechanical behaviour.
Demagnetism / electromagnetic behaviour: validation in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute. Measurement results available under NDA.
Manufacturing and logistics
Cable length per drum: limited by drum volume; depends on diameter.
Standard transport drum maximum: 4.20 m diameter — larger drums require special transport.
Standard road transport limit: 40 tonnes per shipment — European standard.
Production tooling: conventional cable-manufacturing machinery; no specialised tools required — enables scalable production licensing.
Validation partners
Material and electromagnetic properties have been validated in collaboration with two German research institutions: Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (engineering university with deep expertise in materials science and manufacturing process validation) and the Fraunhofer Institute (Europe's largest applied research organisation; demagnetism and electromagnetic-compatibility measurements).

Custom specifications
The production baseline above represents the first ARCAB production configuration. Custom configurations are available for specific applications — variations include custom outer diameter (within the 32 – 60 mm range), custom inner-conductor configuration (power, control, instrumentation, fibre-optic, multi-conductor), custom armour thickness within the 2 – 6 mm range, and custom outer-jacket coating for specialised environmental conditions.
