Steel Armoured Cable and Coiled Tubing Built to Revolutionize the Industry
Patented single-layer steel armouring for the world's most demanding installations.
Power grids, telecommunications backbones, transport networks, industrial sites, geothermal wells, and oil and gas operations share one challenge: the cables and conduits underpinning them must survive sabotage, environmental degradation, mechanical stress, and chemical attack — for decades — without failing.
Conventional armoured cables and coiled tubing fail in predictable ways: bird-nesting under compression, kinking under bending, corrosion in harsh environments, vulnerability to physical attack. ARCAB's patented technology eliminates these failure modes through a fundamental redesign of how the armour is constructed.
A new generation of armoured cable and coiled tubing
Our single-layer steel armour is built from interlocking high-strength profiles. The result is a cable or tube that is torsionally balanced, structurally stable when bent, semi-rigid and pushable into long horizontal runs, smooth and low-friction, gas-tight and impermeable, and chemically resistant to H₂S, ammonia, sulphuric acid, and saltwater.
It is the first armouring technology that combines the strength of solid steel with the flexibility of a wound cable — what we call controlled flexibility.
Three application domains where the difference matters most
1. Critical infrastructure security
Power grids, telecommunications, transport, and industrial sites face escalating threats: deliberate sabotage, geopolitical risk, vandalism, and accidental damage. The solid, gas-tight steel sheath provides physical protection that conventional cables cannot match. For network operators, utility owners, and critical-infrastructure operators, this is the difference between a vulnerability and a resilient asset.
2. Geothermal heat exchange
Geothermal energy installations require coiled tubing that survives high pressure, high temperature, and aggressive ground chemistry over decades of service. Our high-stiffness, corrosion-resistant coiled tubing is engineered for exactly these conditions, supporting the global energy transition with infrastructure that lasts.
3. Oil and gas — the heritage application
Well intervention, electric submersible pump (ESP) cables, downhole sensors, and fracking operations demand cable and tubing that withstand the most extreme environments on Earth. Our technology was originally developed for these conditions and has been refined through more than a decade of engineering work.
Patented and validated
The technology is protected by four granted patents: three European patents (EP 3 007 178, EP 3 007 179, EP 3 006 801) and one German national patent (DE 10 2014 014 793 B4, granted January 2026). Material and electromagnetic properties have been validated in collaboration with Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and the Fraunhofer Institute.
